GOD’S PLAN IN CRISIS _ COVID-19
Our mission remains the same – proclaim the Good News, live out the Gospel and make disciples. Especially in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic where so many people are impacted, struggling and even losing their lives. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
It was in the midst of crisis that the Gospel spread across the world. Jesus had sacrificed His life for us leaving the disciples uncertain on what they should do next. But just as Jesus promised; the Helper, the Holy Spirit, showed up, empowered and called to remembrance the things Jesus said and taught.
So, The Willing Witness as disciples of Jesus Christ will respond to this crisis (COVID-19) with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will proceed empowered by the Holy Spirit, with godly wisdom and prayer. There are many wondering how they will make ends meet as measures are put in place to control the pandemic. We will endeavor to continue to serve those in need.
- We will modify our Gospel Grocery Giveaway to dropping off at front doors and not entering homes.
- We will pre-package items for our homeless outreach to eliminate touching during distribution and we will adhere to the social distancing recommendations.
- We will include more gospel literature in packages, New Testament bibles, New Life in Christ booklets and our tracts because God’s word is life.
We will follow CDC recommendations for eliminating hand to hand contact, utilizing gloves, hand sanitizer, surface sanitizer and disinfectant, and washing of hands. We care about you as a volunteer as well as those who are in need and feeling hopeless. This crisis is unique and it is through prayer and the Word of God that you will find your direction and response. We all have a part in helping
As the situation evolves, we will make decisions on the back to school drive, Shoes of Hope and other ministry events we had planned for 2020.
We are monitoring our partners’ plans closely so we can continue to support them and be ready to go. Our prayers are with Voice of Hope, Samaritan’s Feet, Grace Bridge Food Bank, Empower One, Operation Care, Youth Direct and others.
I remain thoroughly convinced there is no better response than communicating this:
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. 1st Corinthians 15:3-4
The good news has the power to transform and save lives.
May God bless, lead and direct you
